And I Love You

Biography:

Singing is something that Deborah-Grace has always done, a bit like walking or dancing or breathing; but with the release of her debut album 'And I Love You', at the end of last year singing now comes first.

Not that Deborah-Grace is new to the business, she has sung with some of Music's biggest names including Take That and Diana Ross. But writing, recording and releasing her own album is the much greater challenge.

"Stories about life", is how Deborah-Grace describes the album and she is quite a story teller. Stories about her own life, sometimes her friends lives and sometimes just stories about how the world works or doesn't quite work.

There are some older tried and tested kind of songs on the album, but there are also the brand new-hot off the press, - adding the final words on scraps of paper while in the recording booth kind of songs. A real mixture and a real treat.

Musically Deborah-Grace's influences include the technically brilliant Diane Reeves and Jesse Norman, and the downright grooviness, funkiness and danceabillity of Roy Ayers, Sly and the Family Stone and Trouble Funk.

She is a classically trained singer and also has quite a jazz repertoire. She can also act, (she's even played God), dance and having produced all the artwork for the album and her website (www.deborahgrace.com), Deborah-Grace is quite an artist.

Singing in-front of a live audience is where Deborah-Grace's talents really shine, and she recently shone ever so brightly in Exeter while supporting the tremendous Candi Staton, (catch the video on the website). The challenge of recording "And I Love You", was to capture all the energy, intensity and likeability that Deborah-Grace brings to her live performances in a studio environment, (having a bit of a dance between takes certainly seems to have helped).

One reviewer wrote:

"Some beautifully written and thought provoking songs, stunningly sung.
Most definitely music to bathe you heart and soul".

In the near future Deborah-Grace will continue promoting her album with all kinds of gigs, live radio and live performances, (Facebook & Twitter are the best places to find out where she's at).

Sometimes it's just her and a guitarist; sometimes with keyboards and percussion, and sometimes with a "Get on down full funkin' groovy band", (definitely her favourite). She's also started writing her second album so keep your eyes and ears open because, there's a LOT MORE TO COME FROM DEBORAH-GRACE.
